We just wrapped up a project for the 9/11 Heroes Run, a 5k for the 9k who’ve lost their lives since 9/11. This is the extended version. The :30 will run in select markets.

There are a lot of ways to support the Travis Manion Foundation and this cause. One of them is to simply share the video with your friends/family.

This piece is a limited edition poster created for U.S. Marine Corps and can be found at recruitment stations around the US. It’s the first 3D illustration in the 63-year partnership between JWT Atlanta and the USMC. The poster is a mash up of the challenges, both mental and physical, a recruit will face at recruit training. The first mission in becoming a Marine is to conquer the enemies within.

We worked with a talented 3D shop out of London called “The 3D Agency” on this poster project. They blew us away.

AGENT #024 Betty Royale – The Cheerleader

Anything but your typical pom-pom shaker, the “B” on her uniform stands for “beat down.” When she gets the call, Agent #024 ditches the spirit fingers for something a little more her style: tossing cheermates in front of linebackers.

AGENT 325 – Mr Go Nuts – Mascot

Like any good mascot, he pumps up the crowd. But Agent #325 prefers to pump his mega-charged, super co2 with automatic action t-shirt gun. He’ll steal the show and any chance of the game ending. Call in Mr. Go Nuts so you don’t have to go home.

AGENT #140 Señor Crash – The Parachute Guy

It’s a bird! It’s a plane! It’s an out-of-control parachutist heading right for the line of scrimmage! His jumps are impeccably timed and his crash landings always on the mark. Agent #140 is ready to break a pelvis so you don’t have to break up the party.

AGENT #085 Frank Flinger – The Hot Dog Guy

A marksman. A ninja. A stickler for all beef. Agent #085 throws wieners with amazing precision and squirts condiments when and where you least expect it – all to serve up a tasty treat: extra overtime.

We created this idea called SaveScout.org to help “Scout” (a monster from the Monster Plantation ride at Six Flags Over Georgia that’s being sold to the highest bidder on ebay) find a new place to call home. After almost 30 years of scaring people, this monster is out of a job. But that doesn’t mean he is out of friends. This ride means a lot to so many people here in Atlanta. Its just our way of keeping the memories alive. Marsh Ridin’!

Who knew? The very equipment that’s used to help create life in Atlanta is also helping to end it. The cat’s out of the bag in Atlanta’s suicidal community. If you’ve had enough and you’re ready throw in the towel, find a crane. It’s the newest, hottest way to give the middle finger to a boss, spouse, debt-collector or anyone else who has ruined your life.

Jim Weathers, a 37-year old accountant who boasts more than $60,000 in credit card debt, a recently foreclosed house, and is a card-carrying member of the ASC (Atlanta’s Suicidal Community) said, “Cranes makes sense in a city that’s landlocked. I mean, where else are you going to jump from? It’s not like there’s a good bridge nearby.”
When reminded of Atlanta’s 17th Street Bridge, he replied, “That lame thing? I wouldn’t jump off of that ugly, yellow bridge if my life depended on it. Besides, cranes are so easy to find. You don’t have to drive far or deal with traffic. There are 13 in Buckhead as of 9:00 this morning. This is great for the suicidal community because when you’re ready, the last thing you want to do is go searching for a way to end it all. You might come to your senses and change your mind or something. And we all know that any suicidal person worth a damn would never listen to reason. He’d just do it. No questions asked.”

He then pulled out a piece of paper and continued, “I keep my suicide note in my pocket at all times. You just never know when your day might come.”

So if you see a guy on top of a crane in Atlanta, there’s a good chance he isn’t building high-rises. It’s Jim, or some other guy desperate for attention, building up the courage to swan dive into the concrete.

They were told to design their own paddle for the show, doing whatever they wanted. We then rented a space in town to display all of the artwork, threw a huge party and held a silent auction for the paddles. All the proceeds went to Atlanta’s AFLAC Children’s Cancer Center.

In the end, we raised $5,000. Amazing.

Thanks to everyone who contributed and to DJ Dirty Digits and the Burn Unit for taking the event to the next level.

Shoney’s wanted a youth-oriented tone. Well, we thought, why not make vintage tee’s with their branding on them. Retro and thrift store stuff flies off the store shelves.

I got the chance to create some characters for this really fun project for Toyota’s Yaris Onyx car. The characters lived on posters in the dealership and in banners online. Here’s some samples of the characters.

The first five showdown battles could be seen on GameTap.com and showdowncrown.com. An integrated campaign consisting of tv spots, wild postings, banner ads and blog postings helped to drive viewers to the site. Showdowncrown.com received 800,000 hits in the first 48 hours.

The Characters:
• 3-Dee – A 128-bit character built for destruction but born with gimp legs.
• Mega-Pixel – An 8-bit character with limited movement and no real skills.

The World:
It’s video game world so anything goes. The choppiness of 2-bit design is mixed with the realism of a PS3 game. Trees on the same street could look completely different simply because they’re from different video game eras. Buildings have faces and cars explode then reappear. It’s all perfectly acceptable in video game world.

The concept, story and characters are all written and designed by BergerHill. The animation is by Scott Benson of Crash Studios.
